Well, it definitely has been a while, hasn't it?

Sorry for being gone so long. I didn't forget about this place, but I moderate/administer two forums, have school and hobbies, and I have nothing much to contribute to this place anyway in terms of art.

So, now that I'm back, how are you all? Did you have a good Halloween?

I didn't get to go anywhere for Halloween - I got to stay stuck at home with swine flu. Yes, I could have avoided getting it, but every single damn person at school getting sick doesn't really help much. Oh well. I'm feeling much better and missing out on Halloween isn't much of a loss anyway.

Other than that, I've just rented Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story today, and I FREAKING LOVE IT. I'm obsessed. AND I LOVE THE EMOGLOBIN THINGS! THEY ALWAYS SAY 'GLOBIN' AND THEY'RE AWESOME.

Right now I'd really like to check out Call of Duty 2 and 4. I got CoD: World at War today for the Wii, and it's pretty cool so far. I was hoping to get it for Xbox 360 but they didn't have shit there at Blockbuster today. All the good-looking games were rented and I had no choice but to buy CoD. D:

(If you want to cut to the chase about the jobs, skip first two paragraphs, because I know I ramble. ;D)

Hey guys! How are you all doing today? I'm doing pretty darn good - for the past 6 days or so I've really been watching my eating habits. I'm never going to lose these few extra pounds if I don't work for it, obviously. I've only been eating 3 meals a day, and not over-eating; just eating enough so that I'm comfortable. No snacking inbetween, and if I do I make sure it's not junk.

I've also been doing 50 crunches each day to help tone up my belly area. Now I think I'm able to move up to 60 crunches. I'm also going to try to do some squats, and I do 20 stretches to each side along with some lifting small weights... or rather, some heavy books that I have, because I don't have weights. ;D


So that's that, I'm doing good! What's really important about this journal is the fact that I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a possible first-time job. I'm 16 years old, so I can finally start looking. I'd like some tips and I have questions.


1) How do you guys look for your jobs? Do you go online, do you go into the place and ask if they're hiring, or do you call? Or maybe all three or just two of them?

2) If you call there, is there a specific person you have to ask for? The manager, maybe? Or do you just call up and ask whoever's there if they're hiring?

3) Tell me about your first job experience. Was it difficult for you or did you find it really fun?

4) What kind of job is more fun for you - working at a restaraunt, a store, or whatever else?

5) If you want, tell me about some nice or funny stories from being at work. ^^


Thanks a lot for helping. I'll need to feel confident about this first. I know I have to be persistent and to present myself very maturely and just be myself. I feel confident that I could do an interview pretty well, but I need to do first things first by actually LOOKING for places. ;D

Gosh, I really need to get some more art up soon. I just created myself a Halo forum signature banner, but I don't want to put it up because I used an image in it, which the dA staff will probably moan at me for having and take it off. If only I had decided not to be a dumbass and saved it before I put the image on it, so I could put it on here. Ugh, fuck me! D: But I forgive myself, because I'm just that awesome.

I promise I'll try to make a couple of neat Photoshop things soon. What do you guys think of me using other people's brushes for my art work? Amd finally, school is out! My grades have been dwindling all year - the worst grade I got on my report card was a D for freaking reading class, because I got lazy at the end! Oh well! I'll have to try harder next year.

Oh, and final exams! I got a B on all of my exams except for western civ, which I got a D in! A lot of people said they got D's on that stupid exam... because the teacher gives us a 6-page study guide along with 3 stupid maps with questions that have impossible answers... all of this 3 days before the stupid exam!! I was really pissed. She expects us to study for all of THIS stupid shit within the three days we have when we all have 5 or 6 other exams to study for! Most of the stupid crap I spent a century looking for wasn't even ON the goddamn test. <_< Ugh. Whatever. It's over with. I'll start off fresh next year!
